In A Weary Land – Psalm 63

Dear Church Family,

Psalm 63:8 “My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.”

Opportunities to Gather

We are having weekly Prayer Gatherings on Sundays from 9:30-10:00 am inside the Sanctuary with the air conditioning.  All are welcome to join in this time of prayer for our communities, this country, and the world.

Our Worship Service begins at 10 am. Please feel free to invite others to our outdoor services. Come out and join us in your folding chairs or remain in your vehicle. We continue to stress giving at least six feet of distance between people while talking or sitting. The message this week is from Psalm 63 entitled “In A Weary Land.”

Young Adult Sunday School Class will not meet this week.

Our next BVCC Prayer Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, at 6:30 pm. We will be moving to once a month prayer meetings with the school schedule beginning again.

Youth Group will be a Pool Party tonight, Sunday, August 30 from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Knarrs.

Announcements

The weather forecast looks like we should be fine for meeting outside this week. Our policy is that if anything needs to change we will put a message on email, the church website, and on the church FaceBook page. We will call people that we know do not have computers, but you can always call or text Pastor Mark if you are not sure of the plan. We are prepared for indoor services should they be needed. Right now our plan is that we would have a service at 9 am where masks are worn the entire service; and a service at 10:30 am where masks are worn until you are seated, and then they could be removed. Again, this would only be if we announce that we are moving to two services.

Our Annual Church Yard Sale is on Saturday, September 5, from 7 am to 2 pm. We are planning for the yard sale, car wash, food table, and bake sale elements of the day. Please let anyone know on the Body Life Committee if you would be open to heading up or helping with any of those areas. We will need lots of help with pricing, baking, food preparation and purchasing, and bringing in your stuff. We hope to have a sign-up sheet circulating this week. From Tuesday thru Friday, there will be people receiving, organizing, and pricing items from 6:30-8:30 pm. We also plan to pick up items from people who need help getting things to church during this time. During the week, if anyone would like to do pricing on their own, please contact Pastor Mark or Holly Jones. On Friday, we would like to have a group of people (adults and students) come anytime from 1-5 pm to get set-up for the yard sale. We need youth group members working at the car wash from 7 am-1 pm. Thanks for coming together to help! We look forward to this opportunity to come together as a church to serve and work for the common goal of supporting next summer’s missions project.

Online giving is available on our website at www.buttervalleycc.org under the drop-down menu “Resources.” Giving online can be designated for the ongoing Kitchen Completion Project. You can also mail checks to the church office at BVCC, PO Box 97, Bally, PA 19503. Thank you to

all for your faithful giving during this time.

Our Daily Bread produced a booklet called Clinging to Hope in the Storm which is available on the offering table. Please take one to read.

Thank you for bringing in the 97 School Kits this year. Please be in prayer that they would help to bring people closer to Jesus.

Queen Esther will be shown on www.sight-sound.tv on September 4 as a live performance and as encore showing on September 5 & 6. There is a $25 fee to watch it. The Lancaster Theatre is performingQueen Esther in person through the end of the year.
