Combating Conspiracies – Psalm 64 & 70

Dear Church Family,

Psalm 70:1 “Hasten, O God, to save me; O Lord, come quickly to help me.”

Opportunities to Gather

We are having weekly Prayer Gatherings on Sundays from 9:30-10:00 am inside the Sanctuary with the air conditioning.  All are welcome to join in this time of prayer for our communities, this country, and the world.

Our Worship Service begins at 10 am. Please feel free to invite others to our outdoor services. Come out and join us in your folding chairs or remain in your vehicle. We continue to stress giving at least six feet of distance between people while talking or sitting. The message this week is from Psalm 64 & 70.

Young Adult Sunday School Class meets outside after the morning service.

Our next BVCC Prayer Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, at 6:30 pm. We will be moving to once a month prayer meetings with the school schedule beginning again.

Youth Group will not meet this Labor Day Weekend, but the students are invited to the Annual Youth/Young Adult Soccer Game on Monday, September 7 from 9 am till noon at the field in VIctoria Village.

Announcements

The weather forecast looks like we should be fine for meeting outside this week. Our policy is that if anything needs to change we will put a message on email, the church website, and on the church FaceBook page. We will call people that we know do not have computers, but you can always call or text Pastor Mark if you are not sure of the plan. We are prepared for indoor services should they be needed. Right now our plan is that we would have a service at 9 am where masks are worn the entire service; and a service at 10:30 am where masks are worn until you are seated, and then they could be removed. Again, this would only be if we announce that we are moving to two services.

Our Annual Church Yard Sale was a big success. We raised $4166 for next year’s mission project, and as or more important the community was very grateful to our church for having such a nice event. It was also a great time of seeing many people working together in our church toward one purpose and goal. Thank you to everyone who supported the event, prepared food, and donated items. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to organize the yard sale items, put them out, and clean up at the end of the day! Thank you to the Body Life Committee for their leadership of the event.

The Church Council will meet Tuesday, September 8, at 7 pm.

Online giving is available on our website at www.buttervalleycc.org under the drop-down menu “Resources.” You can also mail checks to the church office at BVCC, PO Box 97, Bally, PA 19503. Thank you to all for your faithful giving during this time.

The Kitchen Completion Project is officially over with our total of $20,000 being raised this week. The Kitchen Committee is overjoyed! We are still paying off a mortgage; and there will be other project, but this is a cause for celebration!

Our Daily Bread produced a booklet called Clinging to Hope in the Storm which is available on the offering table. Please take one to read.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for the Elders as they make plans to move back inside. In this time of change and perpetual uncertainty, we know that not everyone will agree with the choices we make. Please pray that we bring Glory to God with our decisions, and that unity can be maintained in the church.

Pray for decisions around the opening of the Bally Community Center as well.

Pray for Teachers, Students, and Parents adjusting to the 2020-2021 School year.

Pray for mercy from God, healing for our country, and guidance for our leaders.

Pray for the completion of the building addition as it nears the end of the project.

Blessings,

Pastor Mark
