Announcements
We have our new Annual Church Yard Sale date. We are planning it for Saturday, September 5, from 7 am to 2 pm. We are planning for the yard sale, car wash, food table, and bake sale elements of the day. Please let anyone know on the Body Life Committee if you would be open to heading up or helping with any of those areas. We will need lots of help with pricing, baking, food preparation and purchasing, and bringing in your stuff. We plan to be ready to start collecting items by next Sunday.
We have a Deacons and Deaconesses Meeting on Tuesday, August 18, at 7 pm. We will hope to meet outside if possible.
Online giving is available on our website at www.buttervalleycc.org under the drop-down menu “Resources.” You can also mail checks to the church office at BVCC, PO Box 97, Bally, PA 19503. Thank you to all for your faithful giving during this time.
Each year we collect School Kits to give out to students in need in the USA and around the world. They are dispersed through the Material Resource Center in Harleysville. We plan to collect them this year up until August 23. Now is the time to get the best deals on school supplies at the large stores. A flyer was sent out in last week’s email to let you know what exact supplies are needed for each bag. The school kit bags are available and are located on the offering table.
Genesis Women’s Clinic is holding a Virtual Gala on Friday, October 9, at 7:00 pm. It will be live on YouTube and their website-www.genpcc.org.
Prayer Requests
Pray for mercy from God, healing for our country, and guidance for our leaders.
Pray for the completion of the building addition as it nears the end of the project.
Opportunities to Gather
Beginning this Sunday, August 9, from 9:30-10:00 am, we will be holding a time of prayer inside the Sanctuary with air conditioning. All are welcome to join in this time of prayer for our communities, this country, and the world.
Our Worship Service begins at 10 am. Please feel free to invite others to our outdoor services. Come out and join us in your folding chairs or remain in your vehicle. We continue to stress giving at least six feet of distance between people while talking or sitting. The message this week is from Psalm 60 & 66 entitled “In the Face of Defeat.”
Young Adult Sunday School Class meets each week outside after the Sunday morning worship service.
We are hosting a Summer Hymn Sing on August 23, at 7 pm. It is an outdoor only event. Please bring a chair, or you can sit in your car.
Youth Group will be held this week outside on Wednesday, August 12, from 6:30-8:30 pm.
The Survivor Croquet Tournament for the youth group is scheduled for Friday, August 28. We want to be at the Mennonite Heritage Center in Harleysville around 5 pm. Please let Pastor Mark know if you would like to be involved.
