Dear Church Family,

Opportunities to Gather

The Summer Concert schedule is printed, and if you do not have one, please ask one of the ushers. The first outdoor concert of bluegrass gospel music performed by the Werner Family Band is on July 12 at 7:00 pm.

We offer an Adult Sunday School Class every Sunday, at 9 am in the sanctuary. Charles Jones’ leads this class on the Spiritual Discipline utilizing Richard Foster’s book Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth.

Our Worship Service begins at 10 am. Please feel free to invite others to our services. Come out and join us in your folding chairs or remain in your vehicle. We continue to stress giving at least six feet of distance between people while talking or sitting. The message this week is from Psalm 53 and is entitled “What If We Reject God?” We are now meeting on Sunday facing the ramp in order to make use of the shade that is available.  Parking attendants will be there to guide those who are driving in to the service.  Please continue to park off site to make more room.  We invite you to bring and set up canopies if you would like to do that. Folding chairs will still be available outside the garage. Next week we will examine Psalm 54 & 56 in a sermon entitled “What Is Trust in God?” Charles Jones will be our guest speaker on Sunday, July 19.

We continue to offer pre-recorded services of worship and the message. View the services at www.buttervalleycc.org or search YouTube for Butter Valley Community Church.

Our second meeting will be held on Monday, August 10th after finishing the book. There is no sign-up to attend this book club. If you need help locating a book or would be interested in sharing a book with someone, contact Kelly Hetrick. The book is available in paperback or digital version.  Here is a link to the listing on Amazon.com.  The listing also shares some information about the book.  It may also be available at a local library.

This summer more than ever we are thankful that we can gather together for a baptism and a picnic. Burgers, hot dogs and buns will be provided this year. Thank you for contributing salads, side dishes and desserts to share. Modifications to serving the food will be made. If you feel more comfortable bringing your own food, you are welcome to do that as well. The picnic is a completely outdoor event held at Camp Men-o-lan. Attached is a flyer with additional information and a schedule for the day. Friends and family are welcome to join us that day. There is an RSVP this year that will help us prepare food for the group. You can RSVP in person at church on a Sunday morning, through the link below or on the attached flyer.
