Where Does Victory Come From? – Psalm 44

Dear Church Family,

As the country and our state begins the process of reopening, may we commit our way to the Lord. Psalm 18:30 says, “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.” Pray that our leaders are directed by God’s way, and that we all take refuge in Him.

One uplifting piece of news is that construction on the church addition is scheduled to resume on May 4. Please be in prayer for all of the workers on the site.

Youth Group will be held on Zoom on Sunday, May 3 at 6:30 pm. Again the link is on Wednesday’s email, and we also send it to the students on Remind. If you don’t have the link, please contact Pastor Mark or Amy Hager.

We are continuing to call people to a Day of Prayer and Fasting each Wednesday. We are hosting a Church Prayer Meeting every Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.

Online giving is available on our website at http//www.buttervalleycc.org under the drop-down menu “Resources.” You can also mail checks to the church office at BVCC, PO Box 97, Bally, PA 19503. There is a Special Benevolence Fund set up on the online giving site for giving toward needs in our church family or community. We have not been presented with any specific needs yet, but we want to be prepared if and when they occur. If there are funds that remain in the fund at the end of the crisis, we want to donate them to Christian charities or non-profit organizations that have been vital as the church responds to needs.

Donations are considerably lower due to COVID-19 for CURE International. This has led to staff being furloughed and other cost cutting measures. Please pray that additional funding will come through, so that at the end of the pandemic CURE is able to reopen all of their hospitals to full capacity.

Local Food Banks and Pantries are asking for help. While donations of food are welcome what is needed more is financial support. That way food donations do not need to be sanitized and the pantries can purchase what is most needed.

Fabric Face masks are again available at the church. Disposable N95 masks are also provided.  You can find them under the portico in front of the entrance doors to the sanctuary.  They are in a plastic bin sitting on a table.
